SANCTUARY FLOODING – EMERGENCY
Severe flooding has struck the Taricaya Ecological Reserve in Peru’s rainforest, a sanctuary where ADI’s bears live alongside many other animals, including monkeys being rehabilitated for return to the wild.
Unprecedented rainfall caused the Madre de Dios river to flood the sanctuary and the government has declared the area a disaster.
The evacuated animals are sheltering safely in temporary accommodation, but funds are needed urgently to repair and rebuild the damaged sanctuary, with additional flood protection measures.
PLEASE GIVE WHAT YOU CAN TODAY.
